Sports Minister, NFF Celebrate Finidi George's Coaching Appointment
Senator John Owan Enoh, the Minister of Sports Development, lauded the Nigeria Football Federation's NFF decision to appoint Finidi George as the head coach for the Super Eagles. The announcement was made at the unveiling ceremony held at the MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja. The minister praised the selection of an indigenous coach over numerous foreign candidates and urged national support for George's tenure.
NFF President Ibrahim Musa Gusau expressed excitement over this new chapter for Nigerian football and affirmed the federation's full support for George and his coaching staff. George, a former national player and part of the technical team that nearly won the AFCON, was given autonomy to choose his assistants, selecting Daniel Amokachi, Benjamin James, Olatunji Baruwa goalkeepers’ trainer, Chima Onyeike Fitness Trainer, and Mehmet Ozturk Analyst.
